About Us
Small ideas sometimes lead to big things
Our Story
WoodridgeMTB Trail Support Foundation started in 2021 as a fundraising idea. Small ideas sometimes lead to big things.
Incorporated in 2022 as a Non-Profit Society, the Foundation's objective is to raise money for local mountain bike trail societies in Alberta and build awareness of the positive effects of mountain biking to help with addiction recovery and overall mental health.
Our why
We believe in the transformative power of mountain biking to change lives. What started as a simple fundraising effort has evolved into a movement that connects trail builders, riders, and those seeking healing through the power of two wheels.
Through collaboration with Baseline Mountain Biking Club, Moose Mountain Bike Trail Society, and United Riders of Crowsnest, we're strengthening the foundation of Alberta's mountain biking community. Our partnerships with The Alpha House and The Shred Collective demonstrate our commitment to using mountain biking as a tool for addiction recovery and mental wellness. We're building more than just great trails—we're creating bridges between recovery and wellness, from isolation to community.
Our work supports both the physical spaces that make mountain biking possible and the human connections that make it meaningful. When we combine the thrill of riding with the strength of community, we create opportunities for healing, growth, and lasting positive change in people's lives.
In loving Memory
There are some special people who make a difference in the lives of others, make the best of whatever life hands them, and make everyone else smile in the process. This was Ian MacDonald, a wonderful father and loving husband.
